Information about our Club


The club was formerly known as Paveley Harriers and was formed in 1975. Over the years the club has become one of the well known clubs in Kwazulu-Natal and has taken an active part in athletics in the province. Toti A.C. as it is commonly known with its distinctive orange, white and black colours operates from Hutchison Park in Amanzimtoti and can boast excellent facilities used as a club base, 400m grass track and a scenic Cross Country course. The club together with KZN athletics has over recent years hosted three South African X-C championships and hosts a league meeting every year.

Club Kit is compulsory for all ASA races. The official club kit as approved by ASA must be worn as per ASA Rules in order for race officials to identify Club members for prize categories. Our official Club Kit is Club Vest and BLACK shorts/ tights. Club Vests can be purchased from the club on Wednesday evenings 6 – 7pm. The cost is R200. 


Time Trails take place every Wednesday evening at the Club:
4km/8km Walk : Starts at 17:30
4km/8km Run : Starts at 18:00
A bring and braai takes place after Time Trials on the first Wednesday of each month. Charcoal will be
provided by the club. Members bring meat and salads. Each week we have a Lucky Draw with prizes sponsored by various organisations. 
Non members are welcome to join our Time Trail. 


The Club Social run/walk takes place every Saturday morning from the Club house. Walkers start at
5:30am, Runners start at 6am. There is a 6km or 11km route option from the Club towards Pipeline and back again.
After the run, tea, coffee and some cold water is served at the Club.
Non members are welcome to participate.


Our Club hosts a popular Comrades Qualifying race annually. As a member of the host club, members are not
allowed to participate in the race. We encourage all members to help out at the event as we require
assistance with Marshalling, water tables, registration of runners and at the start and finish line.
More details of what will be required from our helpers will be communicated.


Cross Country events take place throughout the year on a Saturday at various locations as per the KZNA Calendar . Cross country events are well supported by the Juniors. We encourage the Seniors and Masters to take part as well.Toti AC are honored to have hosted KZN Cross Country Champs on numerous occasions as well as SA Champs in 2021.


The Pasta Party: A few days before the big race, our Club hosts a “Pasta Party” for the Comrades
runners. We provide a selection of pastas and the group enjoys a final get together to discuss last
minute race day strategies and exchange tips.
Race Day: The Club will have 2 Club tents supporting the runners on race day. One tent will be along
the route and the runners may leave a bag with the Captain which will be made available at the tent.
The exact location will be communicated to the runners prior to the event. The second tent will be at the
“Aches & Pains Party” Comrades prizegiving: A week after the race, the Club hosts an “Aches and
Pains” party which includes a prizegiving for Comrades runners. Runners are eligible for prizes such as;
First lady home, First runner home etc.


The Club Captain selects races on the ASA Calendar for Club Champs. All members, runners and
walkers, are requested to take part and race to become “Club Champion” for the distances: 10km,
21km, 42km. A formal Prize Giving is held at the end of the year.
